Before any real work or grant application, there is a free business diagnosis. It is not a sales meeting in disguise — here is what it is, and what you get out of it.
Good consulting starts with understanding, not selling. A free business diagnosis is how a credible advisor works out whether they can genuinely help you, and whether it is even worth engaging them. Here is what to expect.
What it is
A structured conversation about where your business actually stands today — the numbers, the operations, the people, and the pressures. No cost, no obligation. The point is to get an honest read, not to push you toward a project.
What we look at
- The fundamentals — cash flow, margins and the health of the core numbers.
- Operations — how the business runs day to day, and where it depends on specific people.
- Where you are on the 3S model — whether you need to stabilise, make the business sustainably profitable, or build to scale.
- The real priority — the one or two things that would move the needle most.
What you walk away with
An honest view of your priorities and whether there is a fit — including whether the EnterpriseSG EDG could help fund the work. Sometimes the most useful outcome is being told you do not need a consultant right now. That honesty is the point.
If a "free consultation" feels like a pitch from the first minute, that tells you something. A real diagnosis is mostly us listening and asking questions.
What happens next
If there is a fit, the next step is a scoped roadmap — a Business Strategy Development plan across the 3S model, which can often be part-funded by the EDG. If there is not, you leave with a clearer view of your business and nothing owed. Either way, you are better off than before the conversation.
The short version
A free business diagnosis is an honest, no-obligation review of where your business stands, what the real priority is, and whether there is a fit, including potential EDG funding. You walk away with clarity either way.
