Singapore is simplifying its business grants. The EDG, PSG and MRA are being brought together into one scheme, EDGE, with a single application. Here is what that means for your SME.
Note on accuracy: the EDGE grant is a newly announced 2026 change and details are still settling. The figures below reflect what has been announced; always confirm current support levels, caps and timelines on EnterpriseSG’s Business Grants Portal or with an advisor before you rely on them.
What is the EDGE grant?
EDGE (Enterprise Development and Growth) is EnterpriseSG’s move to consolidate three of its most-used schemes — the Enterprise Development Grant (EDG), the Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) and Market Readiness Assistance (MRA) — into a single grant with one application through the Business Grants Portal. The aim is to make support simpler to access instead of navigating three separate schemes with three sets of rules.
What changes for SMEs?
- One application, not three. Instead of deciding between EDG, PSG and MRA up front, you apply once and the project is funded under a single framework.
- Broader eligibility. Support is being widened, with access extended beyond SMEs to larger enterprises as well.
- Higher internationalisation support. Co-funding for overseas-expansion activities is set to increase, which particularly benefits SMEs planning to grow into new markets.
Do the old grants still work?
Yes — during the transition, the existing EDG, PSG and MRA remain open until EDGE launches. If you have a live application or a project already scoped under the current schemes, it continues under the rules it was submitted under. The practical question for many owners is timing, which we cover in our grant comparison guide.
The consolidation is good news: less paperwork, one portal, and in several areas more generous support. The trap is assuming the old rules still apply once EDGE is live — scope your project around the current framework at the time you apply.
What should you do now?
The fundamentals do not change: a grant funds a real, well-scoped business project, not a wish list. Whether you apply under the current EDG/PSG/MRA or wait for EDGE, start with the business problem and a proper plan. If you have a project you were going to do anyway, it is worth checking whether applying now or under EDGE gives you better support — that depends on the specifics of your project.
The short version
EDGE combines the EDG, PSG and MRA into one 2026 grant with a single application and broader, in places more generous, support. Existing grants stay open until it launches. Scope your project properly and confirm the current figures on the Business Grants Portal before applying.
